Classroom Assessment
Courses Taught
MEASRES 3150 Classroom Assessment
This class is an introduction to classroom assessment, using multiple types of data to make decisions about students’ learning and your teaching. It covers the interaction between assessment and instruction, formative and summative assessment, development and use of teacher-constructed assessments, purposes and interpretation of standardized assessment, grading and communicating about student performance, and the influence of assessment on the classroom environment and student motivation. The course is intended to be part of the foundation of your successes in later coursework, in student teaching and as a practicing teacher. The concepts of assessment will be discussed as fundamental to both teaching and learning, not as something related only to student grading.
