ABOUT ME
With 34 years of teaching experience, I have learned that teaching is a relational activity. To paraphrase Rita Pierson... "It's hard to teach students that don't like you".
I have teaching experience in grades 3rd-12th in public school. Now I teach undergraduate teacher education students and graduate students in the Educational Psychology, Foundations, and Leadership studies at the University of Northern Iowa. I have supervised more than 900 undergraduate teacher education field experience students and mentored more than 260 graduate educational professionals in their quest to be educational administrators. Now, as the Department Head of the Department of Teaching I am putting into practice some of those lessons we learned about in the educational leadership courses I taught.
